Shine Through the Lens

Being comfortable with yourself is key to a natural photo session. The person you
are harnessing, educating and creating in your business is such a powerful thing.

However, the camera can bring out our shadows, and it’s vital for me as a brand
photographer, that my clients ‘be’ the entrepreneur that they are in my photo
sessions.

The Inside Piece

We resonate how we feel 24/7, and what we transmit in our communication creates
impact. In my photo sessions, I want purpose to shine through and if we allow
ourselves to sit in our purpose, even if we think we haven’t got ‘there’ yet, we by
default allow ourselves to be. We may never be satisfied with where we are at in
business, so in session we need to let this go, as it disturbs the qualities that make
us special.

When we are calm, we feel aligned and present, and our intelligence has space to
shine. It’s a state of being comfortable with who we are. The camera can act as a
symbol for the parts we are not happy with, the inadequacies and insecurities.
My job is to find that intelligence that brought you to your dream of being an
entrepreneur.

Presence is a calm, centred, aligned state. When we allow ourselves to be, our
communication is more powerful, and that is the inside part that can shine through
the camera lens. It’s beautiful!

Preparing for your photo session

What you wear to your session is similar to what you would wear to a network or
meeting and working with clients. It’s worth taking the time to see what you have in
your wardrobe that makes you feel the part you play as an entrepreneur. It is a
combination of what fits you and your brand. It needs to make you feel good and
have colours and shapes that work with your body.

Before a headshot or brand photo session, I get my clients to play dress up and
send me examples. It helps them decide what to wear on the day and to feel
confident with their choices. This adds to the role of the inside piece.

Communication

Your photos are your communication tool for marketing your presence, and
preparation will allow your visibility to shine out to the world. Use them to show
who you are and what you do!

My job is to help you shine through the lens by understanding your story and
knowing about your purpose. I coach this to put you in the frame, so that you can
then connect with your audience.

I am here to help you feel confident in who you are and what you do before the
camera comes out, so when we take photos, we can bring YOU to the session!
