Our Speakers:

Maria Adriana - The Exiled Identity María Adriana is from Chile and was exiled here as a child into a new identity of being English with a new language and culture. Not only that, as a refugee who came with case loads of trauma, how does she juggle the politely British matter of IDENTITY? In this snippet of María's sellout Chile Song Show, she tells her story illustrated with live guitar and voice performance of the beautifully haunting Chilean Folk music.

Emily Jacob - Who Do You Want To Be? The role identity plays in healing Emily Jacob is the Founder of ReConnected Life, and on a mission to support neuro-spicy, queer, or spoonie women aged 40+ who want to heal the pain of their sexual trauma and live a fulfilled life of ease and joy. She provides one-to-one coaching and online self-help programmes, which have also been widely licensed by charities and universities to offer to their service users: because no-one should be waiting for help whilst they're waiting for help and in time of need. The talk will focus on how critically important our connection to ‘who we are’ is in our healing journey after trauma. It will also reflect on how identity can be rocked by other life events, and consider how identity can be a very fluid concept, not set in stone, a choice even, and the power of the words we use to describe ourselves.
